GANDERBAL, JANUARY 17: on the conclusion day of National Road
Safety Week, Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO), Ganderbal in collaboration with CMO Office today organized a daylong free eye
screening cum medical camp for drivers in Bus Stand near SSP Office.
The camp was inaugurated by the Additional District Development
Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani along with Chief Medical Officer, Dr Afroza Shah, ARTO, Wajahat Qayoom and EO Municipal Council Ganderbal, Naveed Aijaz.

During the camp, hundreds of drivers were screened for eyesight
check-up and other health screening by concerned doctors.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC said that lakhs of people die
annually in our country due to road accidents and many more are
permanently disabled. He said that aim of observing National Road Safety Week is to generate awareness among the commuters about road safety measures to bring down fatalities and Road Traffic Injuries saying that everyone should respect each other while driving and take proper care of their and others safety.

He advised participants to incorporate good driving practices for driving Commercial vehicles and to ensure proper maintenance of
commercial vehicles regularly.

On the occasion ARTO apprised the drivers about the traffic norms
and urged them to strictly follow the traffic rules to control the road mishaps and save human lives.
